Design Review

Chair: Lela Winston ( 1b10@anc.dc.gov)

The Design Review Committee reviews all applications and proposals relating to development, design, historic preservation and zoning.

Meetings: every third Monday at the Thurgood Marshall Center, 7:00 p.m.

Transportation

The Transportation Committee reviews all applications and proposals relating to transportation, parking and other similar topics.

Meetings: every third Thursday at the Thurgood Marshall Center, 7:00 p.m.

ABC (Liquor Licenses)

Chair: Nick Baumann (1b02@anc.dc.gov)

The ABC Committee reviews and recommends action to the Commission on all issues affecting liquor, restaurant, retail and entertainment licenses.

Meetings: every third Wednesday at the Thurgood Marshall Center, 7:00 p.m.

Public Safety

Chair: Commissioner Sedrick Muhammad (1b03@anc.dc.gov)

The committee reviews all issues affecting public safety and law enforcement in ANC 1B and recommends actions to the Commission when appropriate.

Economic Development Committee (EDC)

Identify appropriate issues in regards to job creation, and business development [housing development and policy, project development, public space, transportation issues] Draft resolutions for ANC 1A’s considerationCoordinate public meetings as necessary. If a public meeting is held, a participant sign-in sheet and meeting notes shall be provided to ANC 1A within 30 days of the meeting date. Research and report findings and provide recommendations to ANC 1A Track and notify ANC 1A of all relevant hearing dates.

The Grants Committee reviews applications from community organizations for grants from ANC 1B to support worthy projects. Persons or organizations interested in applying for a grant should contact the Commissioner representing their single-member district for assistance and support.
